Chris spent fifteen years on the other side of the table.
He built his career across private, small business, and commercial banking at some of the largest financial institutions in the world, supporting over $500 million in funding for operating companies, founders, and families. That capital built infrastructure, bought equipment, expanded market share, and moved businesses from where they were to where they intended to be. That seat also teaches you which businesses get funded and negotiate terms from a position of strength, and which do not. The difference is rarely the quality of the business. More often it is that no one built the company underneath it. The entity, the records, the reporting, the team, the story a credit committee can actually underwrite. Good businesses get declined, or accept terms they should not have, for structural reasons every day, and almost none of them are told that is why.
Independence changed what he could do with that. Inside an institution, he could offer one balance sheet, one credit box, one answer. Working independently, he brings the full network he built over fifteen years to bear on a single client's problem, and he is no longer limited to the outcomes one lender is willing to reach. Small and mid-sized organizations now get the access he spent his career building, without being confined to the one door he happened to sit behind.
He founded Kala Financial to work from the client's side of that table. Kala advises founders, operators, artists, creators, and athletes on capital and the infrastructure that makes capital reachable: the entity, the banking, the accounting, the CFO function, the guardrails that let a business hold weight it has not carried before. As founding partner of Keystone Advanced Solutions, he built the fractional CFO and accounting practice that does that work at depth. Through KalaFlow, he is building the financial intelligence layer underneath it.
The market he is building for is not the one he was trained in. Companies now form around audiences, catalogs, and independent projects that no traditional underwriting model was designed to read. Kala exists in that gap. His conviction is that capital is only as useful as the business underneath it. Understood and supported from the side of the business, its systems, its growth, and the people running it, capital stops being a transaction and becomes an empowering force. The firm that learns to read that, and to build toward it, will be the one that serves this generation of operators, builders, creators, visionaries, and entrepreneurs.
Chris continues to serve on the boards of nonprofit organizations and private companies, where his experience, network, and communication support youth, sports, creator, financial literacy, and entertainment focused initiatives.
