    Why this form is required

SBA Form 1919 is the Borrower Information Form required on every 7(a) loan application. It collects the applicant business details, the ownership and management roster, affiliate relationships, and a set of eligibility and character questions covering criminal history, delinquent federal debt, prior government loss, and current bankruptcy. It is the document the SBA and the lender rely on to confirm the borrower is eligible for the program.

    What is SBA Form 1919?
The Borrower Information Form for SBA 7(a) loans. It captures business details, ownership and management, affiliates, use of proceeds, and eligibility and character disclosures, and it is signed by the business and by each twenty percent owner.
    Who signs SBA Form 1919?
An authorized representative signs on behalf of the applicant business, and every owner of twenty percent or more signs the individual section covering their own disclosures.
Does a criminal record disqualify me from an SBA loan?
Not automatically. A yes answer routes the file to additional character review, and the outcome depends on the offense, how long ago it occurred, and the disposition. Nondisclosure is the far bigger problem.
What counts as an affiliate on Form 1919?
Generally any business you own or control, that owns or controls you, or that is under common control. Affiliation is based on control in fact, which can exist below a majority ownership stake.
